About Psych Nerds

Choosing an assessment is expensive, slow, and oddly hard to research. Publisher pages tell you what an instrument claims to do; they don't tell you how it feels to administer on a Friday afternoon, whether the scoring software is a nightmare, or if the norms hold up with the population you actually see.

Psych Nerds collects that missing layer. Every instrument in the directory carries the practical facts — age range, administration time, format, and qualification level — alongside reviews written by the psychologists, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and educational specialists using it.

How reviews work

Reviewers give an overall star rating plus three separate scores: ease of use, clinical utility, and value for money. Each review shows the reviewer's role and years of experience, and readers can mark reviews as helpful so the most useful ones rise to the top. One review per person per test, editable any time.

A note on scope

Reviews are professional opinion, not psychometric evidence. Always check the current technical manual before making decisions about a client.
